Nourish: Journal Prompts for Personal Reflection
Our Nourish program highlights the importance of nourishing mind, body, and soul. Journaling nourishes the mind and soul while providing an excellent opportunity to get your feelings out on paper.
Find a quiet spot where you can reflect and journal through your thoughts. No matter how you choose to engage with it, taking the time to write out your thoughts and feelings can help you to process your emotions, or to keep a record of important memories and events. Journaling can be a beneficial way to make sense of what you are feeling.
With the holiday season freshly behind us and a new year beginning, it’s the perfect time for some personal reflections. Grab a notebook, journal, or scrap of paper, and work through some journal prompts intended to nourish your mind and soul as you close the chapter on one year and embark on the new year ahead.
1. Think of a time this past year that you felt proud of yourself. Write about it! It’s important to recognize your accomplishments, big and small.
2. Are there people in your life you wish you’d talked to a little more this year? Write down their names and come up with a plan to communicate with intention in the new year. Sending a letter via snail mail, a text, or a giving them a phone call are all great ways to begin.
3. Is there something you’d like to focus on this year, a personal goal you’d like to achieve? Maybe you want to learn something new this year, spend more time gardening, or finish the book you’ve been working on. Whatever you’d like to put some extra time and attention into this year, write about it!
4. Do you have any regrets from 2025? Reflect on that. Write it down. Release it.
5. Do you have any hopes for 2026? As you write about it in your journal, think about different ways those hopes come to fruition.
As you move through this time of year, remember to be kind to yourself. Keep gratitude and reflection close to your heart. Happy New Year – we are grateful for you!
